Or just my imagination?
The inner voice of intuitive guidance is extremely subtle. Extremely. It takes a great deal of self-awareness to discern the difference between the still, small voice of your Higher Self, and the ego’s fear-based yammering…which is not subtle at all and doesn’t feel particularly good. Practice, and most importantly, personal work are required here. If you put the cart before the horse by learning intuitive skills before cleaning up judgements and false beliefs about yourself and others, you view the world through a glass, darkly. Intuition will come naturally as you clear away what prevents you from being in your natural state of clarity. Meditation, mindfulness, and being in nature are also great practices to become familiar with the subtle inner voice that is always spot on! Work it from all angles. And if you need support on your spiritual journey, give me a shout!

Empaths receive intuitive information by feeling it. They often experience the emotions and sometimes even the physical symptoms of others.
For instance, if someone close to them is depressed, they may start feeling sad themselves. Or they may get what is commonly called sympathy pains when someone they know is ill or injured. Some empaths have no idea that what they are experiencing is actually coming from someone else. Some are very aware but have no idea how to manage it. They think they are a sponge, absorbing the feelings of others, but that is not at all what is happening. They are entraining, or matching their emotional frequency with the emotional frequencies of others instead of staying grounded and centered in their own thoughts and feelings. I love helping those with this unique superpower learn to manage their energy body and live with grounded clarity! Today, I easily recognize what is mine and what is not, when to respond with awareness and when to let the feeling float by. Today, I am fully present with clarity and discernment. According to metaphysical teachings, you are not a body, you are pure consciousness. Your body is the physical representation of that consciousness, expressing as you in a three dimensional world.
Over-identification with the body and placing undue pressure on it taxes the nervous system in ways that we have only begun to realize. This pressure can be blatant, as in flogging ourselves with self-judgement while imposing on it the aesthetic du jour, or the pressure can come in more subtle ways, like trying to live in today’s unnatural world of technology and social media. The body used to do the things technology now does for us. It was meant to interact with other bodies, body to body, not avatar to avatar on social media. If the pandemic taught us anything, it taught us this. I have no answers here, but maybe just a suggestion to be aware of the knot in the gut of your perfect body that’s begging you to notice when something is amiss. Today, I recognize the perfection of my physical body as healthy, whole and complete. I’m filled with gratitude for the myriad ways it allows me to express in this beautiful world. I allow it to be the body perfect that it already is. Mindfulness is the practice of holding your awareness in the present moment without judgement or evaluation. Sounds easy. It’s not. Especially that pesky judgement and evaluation part.
We sift and sort, and impose meaning so it all makes sense…to us. We’re actually pretty creative when it comes to making up stories. But everything is, in its essence, neutral before we overlay our narratives—a mental habit that only drags the past into the present. Fresh eyes allow fresh experiences. Give it a go, and when you find yourself taking a mental road trip, come back to center and begin again. In this moment, all is. lick here to edit. I’m always misplacing my earbuds. I’ll run around the house rifling through everything, sometimes checking the same places two or three times. As soon as I say out loud, “Where did I put my earbuds???” they immediately show up. It’s like the Powers that Be are just waiting…amused and wondering when I’m going to ask for help.
Maybe I should try this for the more important things in life. Today I remember to just ask, then turn it over and allow something greater than myself to take the reins. Filled with gratitude! The Tower card in the Tarot represents the breaking down of old structures, an experience that can be uncomfortable or cathartic…or both. But sometimes things just need to go… the job, the relationship, half the clothes in my closet…
Then there’s the period of time after you’ve cleared the decks where the new thingy just…hasn’t…quite…shown…up…yet. That space in between can last days, weeks, sometimes longer. And it requires deep trust that all will be magnificently revealed with perfect timing in unexpected ways. Today, I allow myself to sit in the discomfort of uncertainty as I do a trust fall into the arms of Spirit. And, she sticks the landing! “The experience of going down into the city and returning home feeling quite shattered and tired is a common one for sensitive people. Many other things are contributory, but principally the weariness is due to the constant noise, and the pressure of so many astral bodies vibrating at different rates, and all excited and disturbed by trifles.”
The Masters And The Path C.W. Leadbeater Published in 1925 I don’t know about you, but rewinding to the stress level of 1925 sounds to me like meditation cassette tapes from the 1980s…“Picture yourself on a warm, sandy beach.” So much of our time these days is spent interacting with what is unnatural…Alexa, I’m talking to you!!! Our nervous systems so long for a reset that it’s easy to see why meditation practice has become so popular. If you would like assistance with your meditation practice, reach out for a session. I’d love to assist. Today, I allow my body to remember the feeling of resonance with the natural world. As I take a breath and exhale the jagged frequencies of the day, I relax into my physical body and picture myself on a warm, sandy beach. True clarity comes from the Higher Self. When the ego-mind stubbornly clings to how things should be, our inherent clear-sight is blocked—including the path to a perfect outcome.
Let’s be clear. There are more potential outcomes than our brains can comprehend. Simply being open to the concept of infinite possibilities will allow the breadcrumbs to appear in often surprising ways. Follow them. Today, I recognize the myriad ways in which life is always working out for me, even if I have no idea how it will look. I love surprises. A Course in Miracles says, “There are no idle thoughts. All thinking produces form on some level.” And, the more you think a particular thought, the more you energize it, until it becomes part of your experience.
Awkward pivot to our beloved Betty White, who understood this concept better than anyone. Someone asked her, “Do you know what I hate?” and she answered, “No, and frankly, I don’t care to know.” I love that. She always kept her frequency high in the love and laughter zone as she served up a big plate of comedy for humanity. So, maybe a useful go-to when we are tempted to go down the hate-hole is to ask ourselves, What would Betty White do? Today, I choose wisely the thoughts I energize with my attention. |
