Mindfulness is the practice of holding your awareness in the present moment without judgement or evaluation. Sounds easy. It’s not. Especially that pesky judgement and evaluation part.
We sift and sort, and impose meaning so it all makes sense…to us. We’re actually pretty creative when it comes to making up stories. But everything is, in its essence, neutral before we overlay our narratives—a mental habit that only drags the past into the present. Fresh eyes allow fresh experiences.
